Haven't tried the shiny reflective object yet. That will be my next move and I hope I don't need a next move!

Herons are extremely smart birds. They will wait & watch until they figure out what's going on. Another trick is to add something reflective with motion, like a windchime with reflective glass. If they think there is another bird there they will leave! I've had one on my pond for 4 years & never lost a fish. I've had customers keep them on for a few months & remove them only to have the Heron return, very smart bird!

Hey Lisa- I found that the Scare Crow worked great the first month to scare away the Herons. I think they found a work around after that. I added a second scare crow and I think it works about 70% of the time.
Better than nothing. I like my Koi to be alive, not "sushi!"
